J. Smith "Smitty" Harrison, Jr.
Executive Director
Smitty joined the Association in 1993 and has been in the insurance
industry since 1977. He has a B.S. degree in Business Administration,
magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina, and has a
Masters in Insurance from Georgia State University. He was an
Adjunct Professor of Insurance at USC for sixteen years. His insurance
designations include CPCU, AIM, ARM, and ARe. Smitty is a Past Chairman
of the Property Insurance Plan Service Office (PIPSO), is Chairman of the National Conference of Insurance Guaranty Associations (NCIGF),
and is a Special Deputy Receiver for South Carolina Insurance Company, in Liquidation,
and Consolidated American Insurance Company, in Liquidation.

Rick Amick
Chief Financial Officer
Rick joined the Association in 1995 and has been in the insurance industry since 1980. He has a B.S. degree from
Presbyterian College, and an MBA from the University of South Carolina. His insurance
designations include CPCU, AIAF, and ARe.

David Leadbitter
Chief Operating Officer
David joined the Association in 1995 and has been in the insurance industry since 1980.
He has a B.A. degree and an MBA from the University of South Carolina. His insurance
designations include CPCU, AIC, AIM, ARM, AU, AAI, AIT, AIS, API, ARC, and AINS.

W. Ashley Carder
Chief Information Officer
Ashley joined the Association in 2005 and has been in the software industry since 1980.
He has been involved in the development of insurance software since 1985 and has
developed web-based insurance software solutions for companies including Ford Motor Company,
Charles Schwab, Volvo, Sears, Kemper, Empire Insurance Group,
First Trenton, Explorer Insurance, and Insurance Company of the West.
He has a B.A. degree from Wofford College.

Randy Mason
Claims Manager
Randy joined the association in 2010 and has been in the claims sector
of the insurance industry since 1983. He is a multi-line adjuster and
has been Claims Manager of various offices across the US. He has a B.S.
degree from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). He is a prior
member of and was on the Board of Directors of the Claims Management
Association of South Carolina, as well as a prior member of Blue Goose of CA.
